First of all, thousand of apologies to Bunkface for the delay. :)

I wanted to catch them live @ SMKUSJ4's IU Day, But it was cancel-ed. So luckily, I got to watch them live @ Rock On Rave.

It was awesome. It was very dancy-ish tune but still keeping up the rock and roll melody and music. I give them 10/10 for that!

I wanted to meet them at Rock on Rave but didnt have the time .

BUNKFACE! First and foremost, we would like to give a shout out to all the fans that has been supporting us since day one. Thank you for dropping by. We are BUNKFACE, and here is our story. For your information, all the members in our band are from Klang, Selangor. The first one being Sam(Vocalist and 2nd guitar), then there's Youk( bassist and vocals), Paan( Lead guitar and vocals), and Biak( drums). We formed this band in 2005. We all decided to form a band. From there, we made our first move by entering a show on TV called BLAST OFF!. We didn't win but we gained much experience from it. After that, Bunkface decided to take things to the next level and so, that's where we started to try to make our own songs, and so we did. We had our ups and downs, some songs didn't really came out right as we all expected them to be. With determination and motivation from all the member of Bunkface, we didn't give up but kept on trying. Finally, in December 2007, we released our first EP called ''LESSON OF THE SEASON''. It includes 6 tracks (english) with a taste of pop punk/ alternative/ rock. This first success of ours was a huge relieve.Little by little, we got some offers to do shows and gigs. You can get our EP by coming to our shows. We're selling them for RM1O each. You can see our upcoming shows on our page. So, come and join us and we'll give you a hell of a time. To the girls that have been watching the series of MDG, I would like to say you guys ROCK ! well, because you guys support the Malaysian Version of America's Next Top Model. well sort of.

but. There's a lot of drama going on between Cindy's Supporters and Hanis's supporters. I dont want to be at anybody's side. But well I voted for Hanis . :)

The thing is, This is a bloody competition. And it is 100% based on VOTES. So why argue ? Yes, Cindy has the most votes and she won so what. Her dad has the money. So just leave it.

Hanis is beautiful gorgeous and she also has a lot of supporters cause I've been blog-hopping and everyone blogs bout hanis. But it is just not her time yet to win I guess. But that's not a problem. One door closes, the other two will open. Plus, she is so young and I believe that she can be the next TopModel in Malaysia.

Competition is not always about winning, it's always about what you get or learned during the competition. We will see who will make it to the top. Cindy or Hanis.

Cindy is so lucky cause her dad is willing to spend that much. gosh. To you, maybe it is unfair but it is based on votes. So we cant say much aye ? Just got to accept it.

and....yes this is just like what happened to Mawi. Mawi's syndrome has spread to MDG. but Mawi got the votes from the fans, CIndy got her votes from the family the most.

Congratulations to you too Hanis, And try google your name. Most of the blog has your name in it.

Stop with all the drama just shut up and time will tell. Maybe the title Malaysian Dreamgirl is not that big anyway. Who knows maybe Hanis will be much more successful than Cindy ?

Malaysian bands should really sing in BOTH English and Bahasa Melayu.

fact is because if you sing in Bahasa Melayu you'll get more fans and more people singing your song. But if you want to go far, you better sing in English. I had this situation where my friend was singing to One Buck Short's khayalan masa. She said that song is nice and that was the first time she ever heard of OBS. and I was shocked cause OBS has been playing around Malaysia for quite sometime. So yeah, sing more Malay songs ! and yes, not to forget English songs too please !

Few days before I went to Muar, I had one of the best chatting experience with one of my friend. He made me realised something that is happening in Malaysia that MOST of us know but REFUSED to change about it due to their very cool social life. HAH!

Melayu mudah lupa..that was what our very own Tun Dr Mahathir said.

Yang banyak buang bayi, kawin lari, isap dadah, perogol, merompak semuanya MELAYU. and yet we do nothing about it. In school, the parents will always say " cina memang pandai, selalu dapat nombor satu" can we change the word cina? I mean yes melayu is bumiputera and all. but why cant melayu cina india be clever and smart equally. Without pointing the fingers that which race is smarter or stupid-er. In statistics, yes Chinese are smart. but the other races should take note on this and work harder to be on top. This is what we called persaingan sihat. But no, most of us would just sit down and relax and wont compete. Itulah takdir oleh Tuhan katanya. But I do believe that God will want us to compete in life to a better tomorrow :)

When I started going to gigs, my Mom always give me advices like " dont do drugs, dont drink , remember who you are and please dont get involve with black metal and all that shit " The reason is because she doesnt know what is Gig. I bet most of the golden age people is clueless as well. But hey who am I to blame ? We do read in newspapers that a lot of stuff is happening, so parents have to be extra careful with their children. but I always wonder why my mom said that. Is not like I went for gigs and do bad stuff. But the first impression is already clear. You play rock and roll. Rock and Roll always involve with drugs and alcohol. So yeah I dont blame the parents for not letting you kids to gigs. But I am satisfied that until today, My mom still do believe in me and that she thinks that gig is the way to enjoy youngsters music! Way to go mommah !

And not only that you see. We youngsters, the anak muda harapan bangsa dan negara also always forget. Terlalu bangga dan riak dgn apa yang ada. Angkuh! Bongkak! It came across to me that why we youngsters NEVER appreciate our own local acts. Yes it is good that youngsters now support our local indie scene and all, but what happened to the zaman rock melayu ? our very own Search, Black Dog Bone, Ramli Sarip and such. You cant lie that the fact that you do listen to them. But no, we prefer to put on our music interest with the one from the dunia barat. I remember how I used to singalong to Ramli Sarip's song. It was awesome I can hardly find any teenager singing to all these melayu rock. I can hear them singing incubus, paramore, we are scientists, radiohead and such. Kenapa nak kena proud dengan warga asing ? Kenapa tak boleh sokong dgn rock legenda Malaysia ? What is going to happen to our own malaysian art scene?

We youngsters love to go shopping, it is a very bad word indeed cause you can just finish all your cash in one second. haha ! but have you guys noticed how manyyyyyyy youngsters are wearing tees that support the outsiders ? like wearing Marilyn Monroe's tee, New york Dolls, Elvis, Incubus and all these shit. It's not wrong buttt why do you adore them so much ? Why cant we wear our very own P Ramlee's tee, Saloma, Jins Samsudin, Search, Awie and all this legends in Malaysia ? Malu ke ? Takut tak cool dan tak hebat ? Itulah mentalili melayu. tak pernah berubah. Selalu mengagungkan benda luar dan tak reti nak appreciate benda yang ada di depan mata. Bila dah takada baru sibuk bagi anugerah sana sini. buat apa bagi anugerah bila orang tu dah ada. The person left the world without any appreciation. Bila dah mati, baru sibuk nak bagi award sana sini. Kenapa tak bagi bila masih hidup ?

Bukak lah mata kamu anak anak muda. Kenapa nak hidup dgn membanggakan pihak luar. Fikirkan lah. Malaysia tanah air kita, di mana tumpahnya darah kita. Tapi dengan cara anak anak muda kita sekarang, saya yakin Malaysia akan kehilangan anak anak muda yang bijak dan pandai. dan yang paling penting yang berwawasan.

The Otherside Orchestra One of the hot bands in the Malaysian independent music scene at the moment, they write super-danceable rift-driven rock music. I was hooked on this track for awhile so it wasn't hard choosing a track from their newly released album. The drums are distinctive and are my favorite part of their music. They're also probably the only band in this part of town that have disco and strobe lights as a permanent fixture in their live sets. - Junk Mag

The Otherside Orchestra has emerged as one of the best party bands from the independent scene. - The Star

It is really impressive to see them grow to be this big ! Congrats otherside orchestra.

I love the song Possesive the best. Maybe because dhiya sounded much more sexier ? And do you know that dhiya is oh so hot ! :)

Anyway, the otherside orchestra consists of angah , wan, shah, azan, dhiya, rashid and hashir.

I did blog about Ana Raffali earlier. Well Ana belongs to Radiostar. I mean Ana is Radiostar's intern :) So you can see the chemistry and connection right ?

Radiostar is famous for their " Pada Senyummu" . That song was featured in our local movie called Buli Balik.

I first listen to them while I was driving. Thanks to the boyfriend who introduced me to Radiostar. It was greatt. Driving is much more fun with radiostar! And then I went to Voices@ MMU and saw them perfoming live! It was over the top ! congrats congrats! keep it up. If you're all about vocals and slow tunes and relaxing music, radiostar is it!

Radiostar is BEST to be enjoy when you're stuck in the killer KL traffic jams! it's like a tension killer. Thank you radiostar!

I knew them through Myspace sometime around the year of 2007. I heard them and watched them live during the Until Tonight gig at KL Jam Asia. It was very very very good! It was so long ago okay. I wish they could come down to KL more often !

To tell you the truth, I have never heard of Stonebay ! I discovered them also through MySpace. And when I went to their Myspace, Sangsi was playing. It was a good song macam very catchy and the music is very yummy. I love both Sangsi and Name. You guys should really listen to their songs :)

and..a little bit about them :-
The name "Stonebay" came when Ojie was reading an article from Guitar World on "Surf Music" in 1995 and the word "BAY" caught his eye, while the word Stone, was taken from Pearl Jam’s guitarist, Stone Gossard, who is one of his influence at that time.At first Ojie wanted to name their band "Gossardbay" but just saying it reminded him of a mexican called "gossarobay". He scraped the first idea and decided to stick with Stonebay which sounded just nice to him. To Date, Stonebay has played nearly a hundred gigs and are now planning to record their full length album thru an independent label.The album is expected to be released in 2008. After a few lineup changes the band now consist of Ashroff (guitars), Valen (Drums), Izuan (Acoustic) and Ronnie (Bass). *Info on each band members coming soon!! Stonebay uses and abuses JUNCTION Amps.

Komplot is a coming together of creative young musicians from Malaysia, who aspire to bring the energy and authenticity back into rock music, as well as to breathe new life into the Malaysian rock arena. Currently consisting of five members, KOMPLOT are constantly experimenting with new ways of creating their ever-evolving dance-floor-friendly rock sound. Since their conception in 2006, KOMPLOT have captivated a growing number of listeners with their eclectic blend of styles of rock & roll, psychedelic funk, 70s groove, disco punk, metal and some jazz elements.

It all began from a casual dialogue between the group’s instigators, Amrud (guitarist) and Zac (singer), during one humble evening at a café somewhere in downtown KL. This rendezvous took place in late 2004, a time when both of them could no longer contain their boredom towards the happenings in the local music scene. Alternating between sips of herbal tea and cigarette puffs, they caught themselves reminiscing about past experiences playing in different bands, and expressing their self-imposed frustrations toward the lopsided nature of the music industry. Zac and Amrud have known each other for some time, and what bonds them well was the fact that they share similar ideals and sentiments, as well as musical visions. The duo felt it was just the right time to finally start doing something new together. A new rock group became inevitable.

That evening ended with an agenda. 2005 turned out to be a long headhunting season for them as they went talent-scouting throughout the year to complete the group’s line-up. The first addition was the drummer Rizal, street name Chino, who used to play in Zac’s previous short-lived project band named Seemphoney. At such a young age, Chino possesses natural talent and carefree attitude, and his raw style of playing works well in KOMPLOT. The three of them went on without a bass player for a considerable amount of time. In spite of this, Amrud and Zac had begun writing materials and coming up with song ideas while constantly being on the lookout for a bass player.

It was sometime in mid 2006, when Hadi, a friend of the trio, expressed interest in filling in the position. Hadi, also known as Lizard, works as a sound engineer in a well-established professional recording studio. Not only he brings in a very much welcomed set of audio production skills, he also adds an interesting shade of color to the group, with his punk-oriented bass skills and the-devil-may-care attitude.

With four people in the line-up, the group was considered complete. Weekly rehearsals ensued and proved fruitful as they began to churn out new songs and juggle with different ideas. The music of KOMPLOT is basically shaped by each of the member’s vast array of musical inspirations, ranging from Black Sabbath to 60s Malay cult movie. They recorded their first song in early 2007, and named it ‘Konflik Pulau Panjang’, which later on known as just ‘Konflik’. The recording was raw and unpolished, but it was listenable. The song eventually caught many ears and the group began to draw attention.

It was during this time that Jeff came onboard unexpectedly, though welcomely, with his shiny saxophone. Zac got to know him at a show, and immediately imagined what a brass instrument would do to the music of KOMPLOT. Jeff nodded to Zac’s offer and became the youngest addition to the group. Jeff certainly widens the group’s musical spectrum with his jazz and funk influences. According to Amrud,

"the saxophone exerts certain organic feelings and emotions that simply can’t be achieved through just guitars and drums."

KOMPLOT became a quintet, and since then they had begun to actively rehearse and record whatever materials they’ve got. Having played in private parties,weird-weird shows, small gigs and distributed songs through the Internet, they slowly started to gain followers from different states in Malaysia. A few more shows are lined up for them throughout the second-half of 2007. It is in their current plan to release their material officially, and eventually breakout from the ‘cocoon’ and spread their music around the world.

The reason why I like KOMPLOT is because of their originality. " Disko tanpa Risiko ". A great tagline I must say. Also, the word KOMPLOTAN; is very original and for me I think that's a way to appreciate your fans. Like " Hello, Im a KOMPLOTAN" Kinda cool right ! That's why Komplot has a lot of supporters. Must be because of the word KOMPLOTAN and of course because of their music.

I also would like to say, I have never come across a Malaysian band something like this. Very fresh, new, original and authentic ! But I have come across Malaysian bands that would like to be exactly like KOMPLOT. Note to the rest ; the original will always be the best !

I dont think I should comment about their music, because as far as I am concern I am a tone deaf. I just listen to music but I wouldnt know what is wrong with the music.

Komplot is the next big thing that will happen in Malaysia. Believe me.

Konfrantasi is a new band that was formed not long time ago. They're my juniors from my highschool years :)

I cant say that I dont like their song, but I cant even say that I love their song. It's just a okay for me. Good stuff I might say, but could have been better ! So to Konfrantasi, keep it up and work harder.

There's something I would like to comment bout them. I just wish that they could come up with something that is original. Something fresh. Something new. Because when I first heard bout them, I kept on thinking bout Komplot. it is not a good or bad thing. But originality is very very important. But they're new. So just gotta forgive them.

Their single " Motokar " is very catchy I must say. But could have been better :)

To Konfrantasi, Keep it up, I would love to see you guys perform live sometime soon. You guys will always have my support .

Few weeks ago, I went to a charity event that was held in MMU, Cyberjaya. That was the first time I listen or know about News at 11. There's something unique about News at 11. There's something that is the X factor but just could not explain it here. Maybe because their way of performing. " gaya slumber " I Like !

If you're one of the active gig-ers around Malaysia, you should really know who is Reza. If not, you better go and kill yourself. Joking ! and if you've been to Laundry but dont know who is Reza, you must be seriously joking. So yeah enough of this crap. I wanted to post his Bio here, but I cant seem to get it. So I'll just steal it from his music page.

Bombarded with copious amounts of Top 40 gamma rays as a child, I owe much of my young singing career to the Seattle sounds of Nirvana, the rap-rock edge of Rage Against the Machine (how this is reflected in my music you’ll never know and neither will I), the vocal stylings of Black American vocalists, and a whole list of other musical influences I can’t really remember.

The stuff I write is a mish-mash of elements drawn from a combination of whatever’s going on in my head and whatever I’ve been listening to in the past 10 years or so. Dark, heartfelt, confused. Best served with coffee.

I also organise a show once a month. It’s called Moonshine.

Kenny's blog always make me think. He blogs bout nonsense almost all the time. But somehow the nonsense made sense. When you read whatever that he wrote, you will have mix emotions. Angry, Happy, Sad and all that. His blog is sarcastic, annoying, irritating but somehow so sincere. It is one of my favourite blog to read :)

I dont really know him personally, but I wish I do know who he is. Cyber space is not a nice place to meet people anyway. Oh btw, he was voted as one of the 50 most eligible bachelor in Cleo. yeay! congrats Kenny.

When I watched the MDG first few episodes, I was shocked when I found out he was one of the judges and his biggest weakness is girls with mini skirts . I mean who couldnt recognize the chubby chinese man ? It has to be Kenny.
